Weverse aggressively expands… includes Japanese national idol AKB48.

On the 25th, Weverse, a fandom platform subsidiary of HYBE, announced the opening of “Weverse DM,” a private chat service for AKB48’s official community. Weverse will open AKB48’s official community on the 27th, and from May 2nd, it plans to provide a service that allows artists and fans to communicate more intimately through the DM service.

AKB48 made its debut in 2005 and has become Japan’s representative idol group through events such as “AKB48 General Election” and “Request Hour.” They are an all-around idol group that also shows their prowess in entertainment and acting. They will release their 61st single, “Amurado Nol Joha Hae,” on the 26th. AKB48 has over 80 members, and initially, the 16 members selected for the title track of this album will be the first to participate, and other members will join sequentially. This includes former “IZ*ONE” member, Honda Hitomi, as well as Oguri Yui, Kashiwagi Yuki, and Mukaiyachi Mion. Honda Hitomi expressed her excitement at joining Weverse, saying, “I am very happy and excited to communicate with fans around the world through Weverse.”

To celebrate the AKB48 community and DM opening, Weverse will hold a hashtag posting event from the 28th to the 2nd of May. By leaving a welcoming greeting with the hashtag #WELCOME_AKB48 on the AKB48 community, fans will be entered into a draw to receive an AKB48 autograph. The winners will be announced on May 12th through the AKB48 community. Additionally, to commemorate the AKB48 Weverse DM opening, they will offer additional subscription days for those who purchase a subscription until June 1st. Detailed event information can be found on the Weverse community.
