Online K-Pop Showcase To Be In China, Sold Out In 21 Seconds

An online K-pop concert aimed at promoting the spread of Hallyu culture in China continued to sell out.

According to the Korean Content Agency’s Beijing Business Center on the 28th, tickets for the “ON THE K: ASSEMBLE” concert, which will be held on the evening of the 31st at the Korean Cultural Center’s basement performance hall, were all sold out within 21 seconds of ticket sales opening.

This concert, which is being held to enhance the capabilities of the Korean Cultural Center in China and expand the reach of Hallyu culture among the general public in China, is the second one following the Shanghai concert last month. The Korean Content Agency explained that they are also increasing the possibility of offline concerts by holding a performance by Korean idol singers in Beijing following two K-pop online concerts held in Shanghai.

The Korean Cultural Center in China provided advance notice of the event through its official WeChat account, and inquiries from spectators followed. This concert, which features AB6IX, MOMOLAND, Super Junior, Kai (EXO), and STAYC, among others, will be presented in the format of pre-produced videos for online viewing.

Attention is being paid to whether the fervour for online concerts will lead to offline concerts.
