MONSTA X’s Hyungwon has commenced his military service, entering a training camp on the 14th. After completing basic military training, he will be deployed as an active-duty soldier in the army. The location and time of enlistment are undisclosed, and he plans to enter quietly.

In anticipation of his enlistment, Hyungwon, through the agency Starship Entertainment, expressed, “I hope you all stay happy until the day we meet again, Monbebe (fandom). Please look forward to Monsta X’s activities when I return, and I will return as Chae Hyungwon, not Monsta X’s Hyungwon. I will spend this time wisely and return as a more grown-up Monsta X when we all gather again.”

With Hyungwon’s enlistment, MONSTA X has only I.M. left to enlist, following Shownu’s enlistment for social service in July 2021. Shownu completed his alternative military service after basic military training and was discharged in April, becoming the first member of MONSTA X to complete military service.
