Fantagio, the agency of K-pop group ASTRO, announced on the 28th, “After deep discussions with member Rocky, who has been with the group for the past 7 years, we have decided to terminate his exclusive contract with the agency and his activities as a member of ASTRO. We express our gratitude to Rocky for his dedication to the group, and we will sincerely support his future endeavors.
The agency also expressed their gratitude to the many fans who have supported Rocky and ASTRO, and asked for continued love and support for Rocky’s new beginning. Moving forward, ASTRO will continue as a 5-member group, and the agency will fully support the remaining members in their group activities, unit activities, and individual activities in various fields.
ASTRO debuted in 2016 and has been in discussions with Fantagio regarding their contract renewals since last year. In late 2022, the agency announced that they had renewed the contracts of four members, Cha Eun-woo, Jinjin, Moonbin, and Yoon San-ha. As for MJ, who is currently serving in the military, they have not yet made any specific statements regarding his contract renewal, as it falls under the category of commercial activities that are prohibited during military service. More information on his contract status is expected to be announced after he completes his military service.
