“Even Cha Eun-woo Attended”… Audience Knife Attack at Japanese Awards Ceremony

Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo faced a shocking incident at an overseas awards ceremony where a knife attack occurred. FNN Prime Online reported on a stabbing incident involving a woman in her 40s at the K-Arena Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on the 24th.

According to Japanese fire authorities, the victim, identified as Ms. A, was stabbed in the abdomen and other areas by an unknown assailant around 5:45 PM on the previous day, the 23rd. She sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.

The incident took place during the “MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2023” (MTV VMAJ 2023), where Cha Eun-woo, along with Japanese actor Tomohisa Yamashita and others, was in attendance.

Cha Eun-woo learned about the incident upon returning to his accommodation. Fantagio, his agency, stated, “After the news came out, we confirmed the local situation. The artist is in a state of great shock.”

Meanwhile, Cha Eun-woo received the ‘Global Icon Award’ at this year’s MTV VMAJ, marking the first time an Asian artist has won in this category.
