Cho Seung-woo, who returned to the home theater after two years, is showing off his versatility with his comic acting and singing, while Han Hye-jin’s heavy theatrical acting is causing “viewrate down” in contrast.
JTBC’s weekend drama “Divorce Attorney Shin” is a cheerful human drama based on the webtoon of the same name, which follows the artist-turned-divorce lawyer Shin Seong-han (played by Cho Seung-woo) as he deals with unusual divorce cases and the fiery chemistry between his three close friends.
However, the problem lies in Han Hye-jin, who shows a clear difference in temperature when she is paired with Cho Seung-woo. As Lee Seo-jin, a former weather caster turned radio DJ, who commits adultery due to her husband’s emotional abuse and demands a divorce, she is a character with a clear unfortunate fate. However, Han Hye-jin’s interpretation of “unfortunate” as “sorrowful” is so stiff and unnatural that it distracts from the immersion of the drama. Even though she should sound exhausted and weak from the violence of her husband and the criticism around her, Han Hye-jin’s acting is just stiff. It is unclear whether it is because she is currently satisfied with her marriage life and cannot fully immerse herself in the drama or if her three-year absence from the home theater has led to a lackluster performance.
