Big Hit Music, the agency representing BTS, has announced its decision to extend exclusive contracts with all seven members of BTS, namely RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. This resolution was reached during a recent board meeting, and the company plans to sign contracts sequentially with each member based on this decision.
Starting in 2022, BTS embarked on their second chapter, balancing both group activities and individual pursuits. Through their solo endeavors, they released albums and songs that not only dominated domestic charts but also achieved global success by topping international charts, including Billboard. In June 2023, they celebrated their 10th anniversary by hosting the “2023 BTS FESTA” across Seoul, a grand event aimed at expressing their gratitude to their global fans. Big Hit Music intends to consider the military service status of some members while signing individual contracts sequentially. Members currently fulfilling their mandatory military service will have completed their service obligations by the time their new exclusive contracts begin in 2025.
HYBE Corporation, the parent company of Big Hit Music, expressed their excitement for the complete group activities of BTS, which they hope to achieve together following the contract renewal. They emphasized their commitment to bolstering BTS’s status and providing all possible support.
In a gesture of gratitude towards BTS and their dedicated fan base, ARMY, Big Hit Music has decided to donate 1 billion KRW to UNICEF Korea Committee. This donation is a token of appreciation stemming from their participation in the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign, which they initiated alongside BTS in November 2017.
