The group held their “Blackpink World Tour [Born Pink] Japan” at the Tokyo Dome on April 8th and 9th. This concert, which was planned on a larger scale than their previous “In Your Area” world tour from 2019, received a lot of attention from both the local press and fans.
Tickets for the concert sold out quickly, with an unprecedented level of competition, and even the sight-restricted seats, which were released on the day before the concert, were quickly sold out. A pop-up store in Shibuya, Tokyo, which had been open for a week leading up to the concert, also attracted a lot of visitors. With such a heated atmosphere, a total of 110,000 fans gathered over two days to experience Blackpink’s overwhelming ticket power.
Blackpink is currently on their largest-scale world tour, which has attracted around 1.5 million fans. They successfully completed their 14 shows in 7 North American cities and 10 shows in 7 European cities last year, and are now meeting more fans in Asia. They will meet Japanese fans again on June 3rd and 4th at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, and all tickets have already been sold out. The concert will be broadcasted live through Japan’s largest OTT platform, U-NEXT.
