BLACKPINK’s music video for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ surpasses 2.1 billion views, setting a new record after 5 years.

On the 31st, YG Entertainment announced, “BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ music video surpassed 2.1 billion views on YouTube on the 30th afternoon.” They further stated, “This is the first time for a K-pop group to achieve this milestone, approximately 5 years and 1 month after its release on June 15, 2018.”

‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ continues to break records as the most viewed and highest viewed K-pop group music video on YouTube, thanks to the unwavering support of global music fans.

The title track of BLACKPINK’s first mini-album ‘SQUARE UP,’ ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU,’ gained immense popularity with its addictive chorus and striking gun-shooting choreography using both hands. In 2018, it topped the list as the most-viewed K-pop music video worldwide.

The song also achieved remarkable success on various global music charts. It reached 40th and 55th place on the US Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively, making it the highest-ranking K-pop girl group song at that time. On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, the song has been streamed over 600 million times.

BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel boasts over 90.3 million subscribers, making them the number one artist in the world, surpassing K-pop alone. They have a total of 43 videos with over a billion views, and their content has accumulated more than 32.4 billion views, solidifying their position as the ‘YouTube Queen,’ consistently breaking new records at every moment.
