Actor Park Seo-joon (real name Park Yong-gyu, 34) disclosed the reasons behind his reluctance to mention or expose details about his private life.
During an interview for the movie ‘Concrete Utopia’ held at a cafe in Sogeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 1st, he revealed the reason for choosing silence amidst the recent dating rumors.
Park Seo-joon said, “I wasn’t originally so conservative about my privacy, but there was a reason behind it.” He shared his experiences of being stalked, saying, “I came out of a parking lot driving my car, and the same car always followed me from near my house. They even arrived before me, knowing exactly where I was going.”
He further explained, “I went through this stalking experience for about 2 months. It was creepy and frightening, and those experiences pushed me to be more guarded.”
He added, “I became cautious every day because I worried about whether my family or loved ones might be harmed. In the past, I used to share photos with my family because they were dear to me, but after going through these incidents, I regret it now. I realize that it also affects the people around me, and I’m not sure where the boundary lies in terms of sharing.”
Park Seo-joon also shared another unsettling experience, saying, “There were times when the same person kept showing up even after changing my car. It happened before and sometimes it still occurs. I think these accumulated experiences led me to become this way.”
Prior to this, Park Seo-joon had exhibited his hesitancy towards discussing his private life during the ‘Concrete Utopia’ press event, which was his first public appearance after the dating rumors with YouTuber Suss emerged. He mentioned, “I feel burdened by opening up about my personal life” and appeared reserved in his responses.
